HI friend!
I'm Desiray, wife, mom to 3, dog mom.
Life is always chaotic and moving and some how I found my Vibe in photography. Photography has always been a passion of mine since I was 12. However, when I got behind my camera and actually directed a friends company for headshots, I found my Vibe. I remember telling her I have never felt more in my Vibe then I did right then. Hence the name, Just A Vibe Photography.
Photography Niche
I find it hard to declare a niche. If I could personally choose, I'd choose people. I love seeing genuine smiles from people. I love delivering a gallery where people fall in love with themselves because they see how others see them.
If I had to absolutely choose, Weddings and families would be it.
Wedding & Family Photographer
So as a mom, as a woman that is heavier, a woman that has been married twice. I know certain things matter more than others and I'm not afraid to ask what matters most to you. It's nice to be heard and I am here and read to listen.
Let's book a session and have some fun.
Weddings
I have been married twice. My first wedding, my mother-in-law to be gifted us paying for a photographer. His portfolio looked amazing and I absolutely loved what he presented us with. We took our engagement session and then we found out we were allowed x amount of digital images. If you are not aware a digital image will not print larger than a 5X7 without looking pixilated. We did not know this. After that all the fee's for what we could have and print and everything just kept adding on. This was supposed to be a gift so I didn't want to ask for additional.
My Mil ended up hiring a completely different photographer for our engagement party due to all of the hidden fee's, things we wish we knew to ask.
Wedding day
There was no coordination with me. No window time for this part of the event or no request for what it was that I liked or wanted. The photos of me going down the aisle was of my rear end. None of my face, none of the grooms expression. There was one great portfolio picture that we could frame. He took us outside and had a great lighting effect with the stormy sky.
He took my sister-in-law to the side and had extra images of her. Because he didn't have our schedule most of the major points were missed and I was happier to never see those images again. They truly made me cry every time I thought of them. No I will not mention names, they don't do weddings anymore and the rest of their work is phenomenal. I also put it down deep because I didn't want my MIL upset when she tried to do something great for us. I still appreciate her so much.
I don't want Newlyweds to ever feel the way I did. Your wedding day should be about you, what you want, and it should tell your love story.
Family
Your family is your pride and joy. Yes, they may get on your every lasting nerve but they're yours. Your spouse, siblings, kids, fur babies. The one thing we all have in common is, we are always changing as we grow and age and it's beautiful. It is fun to watch the changes from year to year. My husband always laughs at me because I don't take photos out of the frames. Instead I just put the new one over. Every time I update them I get to look through them all and it's special. It's my own little thing. So yes I always encourage printing them, the other reason I allow people to select what they want. You know what frame you want to update.
Photography to me
I struggle with self image and worth. On & off, never consistent, and it may or may not have anything to do with my sleep pattern 😅 Some times a great picture of myself can make me feel so much better and it's always the ones that I am genuinely smiling and happy. They remind me that each moment may be brief, but we create them. We have the power to determine how our day will be and how we see ourselves.
It also gives me a great sense of being to help others see the same in themselves.
people 😉
