First, Congratulations! This time in your life is so exciting as you adjust to your new title.... fiancé. It's ok to get giddy, I'm giddy for you. So you are probably new to this chapter in life and a lot of people are going to be telling you a lot of different ideas and options and you may start looking on your on. The reason you are here. In this whole process, just remember this should reflect you and your spouse. Make it what you want!




Why book an engagement session?

There are actually a few great reasons to book an engagement session for your wedding. Majority of them will help you along your wedding planning and also just to have as a keep sake for the rest of your life.



In with the Trend

If you are a trendy person you already know the engagement session is seen as essential in 2026. You can find all of the newest trends online. You can also find some unique ideas on Pinterest if you like to stand out from the crowd. Some of my favorites include signs and furry family memebers.


Test Out the Local Photographer

Now is a great time to break the ice with the photographer you might want for your big day. Test the waters with them and see if they are a good fit for you. Some questions to consider:

Do they make you feel comfortable?

Are the good with time?

How is the process from start to finish?

Are they easy to work with?

If you already have a photographer you love, see if they have a complimentary engagement session with their wedding packages.

Read over the contract carefully. Ask about watermarks/logos they display on their images and if they will be removed. One couple recently asked their photographer to remove it so they can display it as their welcoming sign for their reception and the photographer will not because it is in their contract.

Check Off your Wedding Check List

There are going to be several things on your Wedding to do list that you will need to design. There are so many different options that it can be very overwhelming and overbearing. Instead of stressing about what designs to add in and not to add in, use your engagement photos. This is yalls story and this session is a great way to tell your story. If you have a theme in mind for your wedding you can incorporate it into your session. The relaxed, laid-back coastal theme, a Halloween Mascarade, or even a classical timeless wedding theme would be wonderful ideas. Choose your outfits and locations to bring your idea to life and have your images become your wedding staple piece.

5 Creative Ways to Use your Photos

1)  To design your save the date

The best way to save the date is with a picture your yall! My personal favorite save the dates are the magnets. We have a whole collection of our friends and family on the fridge. They are still serving as a reminder to wish them a Happy Anniversary every year.

2) Elevating your Wedding Website

Wedding websites do take a little time. However, they are so worth it. Your photos are a great piece to make them personal. If you are having a larger wedding or having a lot of people traveling to your location your website will be a great go to for them. Many of the websites allow guest to RSVP, make meal choices, view itineraries, find hotel information and find your amazing wedding registry. The top websites for 2026 are Zola, WithJoy, Theknot, Minted and Honeyfund.

3) Decorating the Bridal Shower & Rehearsal Dinner

That's right, prints are great to use for the welcome sign. It is a wonderful piece to see at the entrance and immediately lets your guest know they are indeed at the correction location. Prints also make a great choice ad table top frames. Add a number to them and they become an organization tool for seating charts and help organize buffet lines if the option is there. You can display them on gift tables, snack tables or have the bride on the women's door and the groom on the mens door. Be creative, have fun, and make it reflect you.

4) Create a Personalized Wedding Guest Book

Design a high-quality photo book with large white boards for your guest to sign. This is a great keepsake to cherish your day and the people you shared it with. Want something to display in your home instead? Print out a larger version with a big white boarder and frame it afterwards.

5) Thank you Cards

Bring a Thank you banner or sign to your engagement session just for this specific reason. Use them for your Thank you Cards for the Shower or the Wedding in general. Have them made up ahead of time and have them ready to customize to each guest when the time is right.
